Are you vegan and seeking help from a counsellor? Perhaps, for example, you have suffered a bereavement. Or maybe you want to improve your self esteem. You might wonder how important it is to find a counsellor who is also vegan. Knowing that I get it with regard to veganism creates a comfortable and safe environment. Here, your feelings will be understood and validated. You can share your story without fear of judgement.
About me and my practice
During the counselling sessions, we can explore your concerns and any past patterns which may be blocking you. Counselling can help you develop more meaningful connections with yourself and others. I can show you techniques to deal with overwhelm and help you to discover your strengths to thrive as a vegan in a non vegan world. Therefore, moving from despair to active hope.
Whether your concerns relate to veganism, or not, I am here to help. Some of the issues I can help with are:
Relationships
Anxiety
Trauma
Abuse
Self esteem
Alcohol issues
Despair about the vast scale of animal suffering
Climate anxiety
Burnout from activism or animal rescue
Transitioning to a vegan lifestyle
Communicating with non vegans
Vegan parenting
Experience
I qualified as a counsellor in 2003. My experience includes alcohol counselling and working for a domestic abuse charity. More recently, Ive supported clients online with a wide range of issues. For example, relationships, trauma and anxiety. In addition, Ive helped clients to improve motivation, self esteem, and confidence. My approach is Integrative. So I use techniques from different therapeutic approaches. This means I can vary my approach to meet your needs.
As a vegan of over 30 years, I understand the pain of living with the suffering of animals and climate anxiety. Furthermore, Ive experienced the practical and social aspects of living in a non vegan world. Having raised a vegan child, I understand the unique challenges of vegan parenting.
